The sanitation of wooden construction requires special care and wide
expert’s knowledge. The keyword is “Maintaining by using” ensuring
the conservation of valuable historical buildings often under preservation
order by a conversion of use, p. ex. dwelling or commercial purposes.
As far as half-timbered houses are concerned these measures deeply
affect the building substance. A lack of profound and careful planning
and execution may result in failure and loss of valuable building
substance.
