    In 2017, the Fraunhofer WKI will once again be exhibiting at the BAU, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems. The Fraunhofer WKI will be presenting exhibits from the specialist departments “Center for Light and Environmentally-Friendly Structures ZELUBA“ and “Technology for Wood-Based Materials“.

  • Berlin / 01/20/2017 - 01/29/2017

    nature.tec 2017 (International Green Week)

    Within the framework of the International Green Week in Berlin the nature.tec will once again be presented by the FNR, the central coordinating agency for renewable resources in Germany. The Fraunhofer WKI, together with the Fraunhofer IAP and the Fraunhofer IGB, will present research results on the topic of “The sustainable use of nature’s resources“.

  • Paris / 03/14/2017 - 03/16/2017

    JEC World 2017

    For the very first time, the Fraunhofer WKI will be participating on the Fraunhofer joint stand at the JEC World fair in Paris. The world's largest trade fair on the topic of composites covers the entire value chain from raw materials through to finished products. The scientists from the Fraunhofer WKI Application Center HOFZET will thereby be presenting their latest developments in hybrid materials, the textile process chain and recycling.

    Techtextil 2017

    Techtextil is the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens and demonstrates the entire spectrum of application possibilities for textile technologies. Under the motto “Connecting the Future”, international exhibitors will present their textile product innovations to trade visitors from 9th to 12th May, 2017. Techtextil is held in parallel with “Texprocess”, the leading trade fair for the clothing and textile-processing industry. The Fraunhofer WKI application center HOFZET will be presenting its latest research work in the field of textile technology.

  • Take advantage of the 6th Innovation Workshop as a platform for exchanging ideas and learning new skills during interesting presentations and stimulating discussions. Industry representatives and research institutions from the fields of wood-based materials, the furniture industry and interior construction will present you with the latest product innovations and invite you to the subsequent plenary discussion. The workshop is once again being organized by the Association of the German Wood-Based Panel Industry (VHI) in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer WKI and the research facility IHD Dresden.

    interzum 2017

    From 16th to 19th May 2017, the international trade fair interzum will take place in Cologne. The interzum is the world’s largest branch event for interior construction and furniture manufacture and offers a comprehensive overview of new technologies and designs. The Fraunhofer WKI will present latest projects and developments as well as its service offers for the furniture industry and manufacturers of wood-based materials.

    LIGNA 2017

    From 22nd to 26th May 2017, Hanover will be dominated by the LIGNA. In three months’ time, the world’s leading trade fair for machinery, plant and tools for the woodworking and timber-processing industry will open its doors. The Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research WKI traditionally presents its latest research results in the field of process and systems technology for wood-based materials at the LIGNA.

  • During this workshop, experts from research and industry will report on the latest innovations in timber production and the processing of waste wood. The workshop is part of the EU-funded project “CaReWood: Cascading Recovered Wood” and will take place in Hanover within the framework of the LIGNA – the world’s leading trade fair for machinery, plant and tools for the woodworking and timber-processing industry. 15 partners from 5 countries, including the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, are working together within the CaReWood project on a concept for the use of waste wood as a raw material source for clean and reliable recycled wooden products. The objective is the further strengthening of the market competitiveness and sustainability of wood-based products.

  • The 3rd Cooperation Forum “Kleben von Holz und Holzwerkstoffen“ (Bonding of wood and wood-based materials) enables direct and targeted contact between experts, potential users and decision-makers from the fields of adhesive production and process technology, woodworking and wood processing, timber construction and the furniture industry, new materials, architecture/planning and from scientific institutions. The Fraunhofer WKI will participate with two presentations and a stand in the accompanying trade exhibition.
