Trade Fairs and Events

This year, the International Motor Show will be held in Munich for the first time as the “IAA Mobility” mobility platform. In addition to the classic product and brand presentations on the exhibition grounds, there will be a wide-ranging program in downtown Munich under the motto “Open Space” – including a test track for sustainable mobility.

On Königsplatz, the Fraunhofer WKI will be presenting car body parts made of natural fiber-reinforced plastics. The bio-based lightweight components are a sustainable alternative to body parts made of conventional materials. Together with Porsche Motorsport, the Fraunhofer WKI is testing their suitability for series production in test drives in the “Bioconcept Car” by FourMotors. In the next step, the proportion of renewable raw materials in body parts is to be maximized through the use of biobased plastics and paints together with the partner HOBUM Oleochemicals.
