Trade Fair

At the Hannover Messe, the industry biennially presents the newest technologies for the factories and energy systems of the future. The focus topic this year is: “Industrial Intelligence - digital networking between humans and machines in the age of artificial intelligence”. The event organizers are once again expecting around 6,500 exhibitors and 220,000 visitors from all over the world.

The Fraunhofer WKI will be presenting car body parts made of natural fiber-reinforced p. The bio-based lightweight components are a sustainable alternative to body parts made from conventional materials. In collaboration with Porsche Motorsport, the Fraunhofer WKI is testing the suitability of the materials for series production during test drives in the “Bioconcept-Car”. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and is coordinated by the Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e. V. (Agency for Renewable Resources).
