From wood-based materials and polymeric biocomposites to high-performance timber structures and bio-based multi-material structures: bonding is a key technology for transforming the economy into a sustainable bioeconomy. At the “International Conference on Wood Adhesives”, experts from industry and science will come together to exchange the latest findings on binders, adhesives, and bonding technologies for wood and biomass.

Fraunhofer WKI will be there:

• Prof. Dr. Raoul Klingner (Head of Institute) will participate in the panel discussion “Engineered Wood Products” with insights into current materials research and outlooks for the future. His current focus is particularly on the topic of “digitalization in the wood sector.”
• Dr. Steven Eschig (Head of the “Binders and Coatings” department) will give a presentation on “Formaldehyde-Free Condensation Resins from Lignin and Hydroxymethylfurfural”.
