Detection and assessment of damage to adhesive joints in bonded, load-bearing, installed timber components

Compact course of the WKI | AKADEMIE®

The photo shows two aged wooden beams that have been joined on the end grain side. An approximately 50 mm large and 30 mm deep hole was drilled in the area of the joint.

Damage to load-bearing timber structures can be detected with the aid of drill core examinations and other tests.

In theoretical and practical training units, experts from the Fraunhofer WKI impart basic knowledge on the detection and assessment of damage to adhesive joints in bonded, load-bearing, installed timber components.

A certificate of attendance is issued.
