By participating in the European Wood-based Panel Symposium, guests will have the possibility to obtain information concerning the most important trends and current challenges in the wood-based materials industry. Taking place for the 14^th time, the event offers a forum for exchange and networking between manufacturers, suppliers and users.

Top-class specialist presentations on topics such as artificial intelligence, recycling, material development and the use of wood-based materials in the construction sector will be complemented by new focal points such as economic framework conditions and the effects of climate change. Thomas Wybierek (NordLB) and Dirk Notz (University of Hamburg) are among the speakers providing insights into these topics.

The program encompasses 21 presentations. It will be opened by Raoul Klingner, Institute Director of the Fraunhofer WKI, and Kris Wijnendaele (EPF). Three technical presentations from the Fraunhofer WKI are planned. Raoul Klingner will begin with his overview presentation “Wood-based panels - a driver for innovation and circularity”. This will be followed by Bettina Meyer with her presentation “REACH regulation formaldehyde. Meeting REACH requirements, understanding ECHA, avoiding risks.”. In his presentation on Friday, Filip Majstorovic will report on “Mineral-bonded panels based on wood and natural fibers: Current research activities”.

The more than 300 expected participants from Germany and abroad will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and establish new contacts during the breaks and at two evening events. Hywax GmbH and other industrial companies cordially invite participants to attend these events.
